New video of duduk and dhol player sisters (video)
Folk song with modern instrumentation is presented by Anna and Anahit Mkhitaryan, duduk and dhol players, through their new video. The group "Mkhitaryan sisters and friends" performs the song "Jur Kuger" in the video. There were other professional musicians with the sisters in the video, such as Areg Arustamyan (piano), Gurgen Amiryan (bass guitar), Alexander Grigoryan and Arthur Martirosyan (drums) and also, band's members sing while playing, which makes it unique. By the way, the instrumentation was done by the band. All the traditions of Armenian folk dwellings have been preserved, and at the same time, the work has received a modern, fresh spirit. Recording of the video was made at Yeghishe Petrosyan's "Ardzagank" studio. The director is Karen Stepanyan. Mkhitaryan sisters collaborate with different groups, including jazz and individual performers. In addition, in the near future Mkhitaryan sisters are planning to have concerts with their band in Yerevan, in regions and abroad.
