Support A1+!“Poverty rate in Armenia is still too high. There are many unsolved problems in public health care system and tremendous numbers of jobless in the republic. All these problems will be solved in the event of cooperation between state and private sectors”, the UN Coordinator in Armenia Liz Grande said at a conference held Thursday in Yerevan by the UNO and International Agency for Development .
Liz Grande is convinced Armenia should join the Global Treaty initiated by the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. 1,300 enterprises for 80 countries are the Treaty members.
The Treaty’s key objectives are to make economic incentives, promote business and human resources and solve public health and education problems, she said.
Deputy Trade Minister Tigran Davtyan said the republic’s private sector made 80 percent. In his opinion, this program let all businessmen deal with global troubles the society faces today.
Davtyan also says Armenia’s investment policy have been quite effective for last years.
The UN Senior Adviser on Global Treaty Furnak de Silva said he knew that many enterprises in Armenia are involved in shadow economy. To deal with offshore partners they need to go out from shadow.
