TAX EVASION NOT ONLY IN ARMENIA
Support A1+!Today Armenian-European Economic Policy and Legal Advise Centre /AEPLAC/ held presentation on “EU Experience in Working out Tax Legislation” in “Teqeyan” Centre. Hubert Hamajkers, honorary adviser of International Bureau of Fiscal Documents / IBFD/ introduced European Union joint tax sphere and year-long experience in Armenia.
Armen Alaverdyan, Vice-Head of State Tax Service of Armenia, said tax payers of EU member-states are conscientious payers, and it can be achieved through improvement of legislation and consolidation of management.
In the opening speech of AEPLAC European Director Kenneth Munter just the contrary analyses were voiced. “No tax payer of any country wants to part with the money earned by his own sweat and blood, which is paid to the state in the form of taxes. But all the businessmen must realize that the taxes paid return to their families”.
In that aspect Hubert Hamajkers underlined elaborating and application of “Behavior Code”. By his words, that code is applied towards direct and indirect taxpayers in EU member-states, through which one European state at the same time manages to influence or press upon another.
Armen Alaverdyan assures for the first time this year the state budget of Armenia has been performed on profit tax part. “The point is that businessmen hiding their real revenues became embarrassed with investigations and publications made by journalists and started showing profit taxes”, he said.
