THE NEW LAW ABOUT "MASS MEDIA" FAILED

The law bill on the "Mass Media" that was represented to the Eurocouncil experts judgement, was confered on negative reaction. Listening to the Armenian journalists' and Mass Media heads' remarks, looking through the Mass Media joint statement, the experts noted that the law main points don't meet the Eurocouncil requirements.

The question what was the reason for the Eurocouncil to demand a new law on the Mass Media surprised the experts much. They said that there was no demand like that. The Eurocouncil demand concerned only the law on TV and radio.

And if the speech freedom statement is fixed in the functioning law there's no need to pass a new law. Looking through the new law draft shortcomings, the experts announced that no law is better than a bad one.
