INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC IS DEMANDED TO LEGALLY APPRAISE GENOCIDE OF ARMENIANS IN AZERBAIJAN
Support A1+!On February 28, the Memory Day of Sumgayit victims, a crowded march to Tsitsernakaberd took place in Yerevan . Representatives of power, politics, social organisations, intelligentsia, people, having seen Sumgayit genocide, participated in the march. There were placards and photos, criticising Sumgayit genocide, among the people.
March participants laid flowers and wreaths on the khachkar in the memory for innocent victims. Then a grief meeting took place. Those making speeches criticised the massacre against the Armenians in Sumgayit 15 years ago and demanded the international public to give right legal and political appraisal to the genocide of Armenians in Azerbaijan that began with Sumgayit events.
Larissa Alaverdyan, member of Human Rights Committee, affiliated with Armenian president, informed a press release had been received from Baku. According to it, a road is to pass along the territory of Narimanov or Armenian Cemetery of Baku. Deadline till April 1 to take the graves away was set. There are Greeks, Russians buried there, too.
“It’s a war against the deceased and it is to be stopped” , Alaverdyan says.
The meeting unanimously adopted a formula addressed to UNO, Co-Chairmen of OSCE Minsk group, presidents of Russia, France, USA. It calls on holding an open trial against the masterminds, executors and supporters of Armenians’ slaughter in Azerbaijan .
