REPATRIATION UNDER THE AUSPICES OF ICRC
Support A1+!On Monday, 24 March 2003, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) took part in the repatriation of two civilian prisoners, two Azerbaijani minors, organized by the authorities concerned.
The operation took place at the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Tavush / Gazakh region.
Prior to their repatriation, both minors confirmed to ICRC delegate their wish to return to their home country.
In accordance with its mandate, the ICRC has assisted the concerned authorities in organizing such repatriations in the region since 1992 and stands ready to support any such similar operation in the future.
