ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS COMING UP
Support A1+!Reception of applications of this year’ university entrants is over. According to Alexander Grigoryan, secretary executive of Yerevan State University’ entrance commission, 3846 entrants have appealed to YSU this year. Applied mathematics and Armenian and Literature have received most of applications, each 350.
Psychology speciality gained most of applications, 147 entrants will compete for 8 places by state order. There are 65 medal-winners among the entrants, 5 of them have already entered Physics and Mathematics Departments.
In general, the medal-winners have applied for 10 departments, most to Economy Faculty, 34, 13 have applied to Juridical Department, and 9 medal-winners to Information Science and Applied Mathematics Departments.
Number of places by state order has been unchanged in YSU for 5-6 years, making 671. Under entrance rules, 10% of the state order is envisaged for medal-winners.
According to Mr Grigoryan, some steps will be taken in order that state order places might not reduce at the expense of medal-winners.
