THERE IS NO ROOM FOR REFUGEES IN COURT

Social

Suit filed by refugees from Azerbaijan living in “Bari Tsitsernak” rest-home against the rest-home owner Sargis Sargssyan was to be heard today. The refugees are demanding to improve their living conditions. However, the hearing was delayed till November 21 and plaintiffs were told there were many cases to be considered by the court and courtroom is constantly being occupied. This is the second time the trial has been postponed.

Plaintiffs’ attorney Larisa Marianyan voiced her anger at suspension of the trial saying it is not so easy to borrow money and come to court together with the physically handicapped and pensioners. In her opinion, this is nothing more than refugees’ rights violation and added they have to live in inhuman, unbearable conditions and most of them are affected by TB. Marinyan said if the court doesn’t make impartial decision, the refugees will be reluctant to apply to European Court.
