IMPRISONMENT FOR LIFE DOESN’T SUIT HUNANYAN
Support A1+!Defendant Nairi Hunanyan announced at the Court that the punishment for him was illegal. Prosecution had demanded to sentence Nairi Hunanyan and 4 other October 27 defendants to life imprisonment. The Sargssyans and the Demirchyans demand for capital punishment for all of them.
Nairi Hunanyan thinks that the crime he has committed must be condemned by NN 61 and 59 articles of the former Criminal Code. 3,5 years ago he was brought a charge against under those articles. So, according to him, he is to be convicted either to 15 years in jail or to death penalty.
”Those who think that death penalty was replaced by life imprisonment are mistaken. Capital punishment was eliminated, another punishment was fixed”, he says.
