MOTHERS OF THOSE PERISHED AS WELL WANT TO LIVE
Support A1+!”Who are our leaders now?- a band of scoundrels. What do we face? - beating mothers and wives of soldiers. Arthur Baghdasaryan gave promises to us. But his bodyguards now lay hands on us. Law-enforcement bodies call us bitches and provoke us to things worse”, mothers of the perished fighters and soldiers killed at peace were crying at the protest action today.
They were trying to enter the Parliament building. But Baghdasaryan’s bodyguards hampered them. Skirmish occurred there. Protestors demanded for a worthy attitude.
Viktor Soghomonyan, head of Parliament Speaker staff met the mothers. But they didn’t want to hear him at all since Parliament Vice-Speaker Tigran Torosyan had as well received them for many times for the same problem, promised to study and solve it somehow. But nothing was done.
Mothers of the dead fighters tell that in the past they were granted 3000 drams, 1500 to each parent. ”We were deprived of that aid at Serj Sargssyan. We don’t any longer enjoy the right to transport free of charge”.
Women demanded for pension rise and job. ”Our sons are killed, in captivity or missing. Who will maintain us? There is no work or job place. Our pension is enough for only buying flowers for Erablur”.
The demonstration had continued for about 2 hours when Rafik Petrosyan, Chair of Parliament Committee on State and Legal Issues, Gagik Mkheyan, Chair of Committee on Health and Social Issues, and ARF representative Hrayr Karapetyan received the women. As before MPs again promised to study the problem and to report on it to Parliament Speaker within 2 days.
Mothers and wives of the dead fighters are not going to stop and are quite resolute.
