NORTHERN AVENUE TENANTS’ PATIENCE DWINDLING

Social

Northern Avenue tenants gathered Monday outside the Yerevan municipality building in a protest of evictions.

“Every night agents on the court decisions compulsory carrying-out are driving us from our homes. We demand the authorities to provide us with appropriate apartments. We ask them not to force us to seek asylum overseas”, the protesters say.

They say they offered dismal money for their apartments. Moreover, they are obliged to pay a 10-percent tax from that ridiculous amount.

The capital’s deputy mayor received protesters and told them the head of Kentron district will receive them today to discuss their problems with them.

Demonstrators reacted angrily to that saying if they aren’t given proper apartments or paid equivalent sum of money, they will announce hunger strike.
