STEPANAKERT RESIDENTS’ REACTION TO BESLAN EVENTS
Support A1+!On Thursday, on the initiative of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic’s non-governmental organizations, a multi-thousand rally was staged in Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabach Republic’s capital, to condemn horrible terrorist act committed recently in Beslan, North Ossetia.
The rally participants sent a message to the people of North Ossetia and Russia. They denounced the act as a crime against humanity and against the growing generation and its right for life.
“We, the Stepanakert people, who have recently suffered the unspeakable bitterness of our relatives’ loss connected with the 1988-1990 bloody mass slaughters of the peaceful Armenian population in Sumgait, Baku, Kirovabad and other regions of Azerbaijan, as well as the military activities imposed against Nagorno Karabakh, fully realize the enormity and tragedy of what was committed in the North Ossetia. We, the participants of the rally-procession, strongly condemn this and other manifestations of terror all over the world”, the message says.
The demonstrators commemorated those killed in Beslan by laying flowers at the Memorial Complex fountains.
