3 PROJECTS FOR NATURE
Support A1+!Government has today discussed 3 bills on ecology sphere, in particular on restoration of Sevan Lake ecosystem, disafforestation and usage, mining and protection of entrails.
Ecology Deputy Minister Simon Papyan informed that it’s envisaged to work out the management plan of Sevan national park, determination of the boundaries and mapping.
Referring to the illegal disafforestation Mr. Papyan confessed Ecology Ministry is now weak to eliminate it but is obliged to do everything possible to reduce the unlawful disafforestation.
According to him, a project was worked out, which will enable to assess the situation and to avert the illegal disafforestation. Government has assigned 10 million drams for implementation of the project.
As to the mechanisms applied by the Ecology Ministry for control over construction of buildings in Sevan basin, Mr. Papyan says Parliament discusses the bill on “Ecological Control” and will give more opportunities to keep nature of Armenia under control if being passed.
