MUNICIPALITY’S ANOTHER CRACK-DOWN ON ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION
Support A1+!On Monday, Boris Kocharyan, deputy chief of the Yerevan Municipality unite responsible for urban planning and architecture, speaking at a news conference, voiced his concern about mounting number of unauthorized construction of new buildings in Yerevan and said Armenian capital’s mayor intends to crack down on that.
Relevant organization trying to set their control over the situation recently confessed that they are unable to prevent illegal construction, Kocharyan said.
A fine ranging from 200,000 drams to 400,000 will be imposed for each illegal building.
However, it became clear today that the law leaves room for maneuvering. One can be permitted to construct something if pays 1,000 drams for each square meter in advance.
