ABOUT BEATING PEOPLE AND REGISTERING SECTS

Social

Young people assembled in Araratian Diocese mainly suggested the variants of holding demonstrations and marches against activity of “Jehovah’s Witnesses”.

“Aren’t you afraid that water-cannons will throw water on you, that you will be beaten or electroshock will be used to do away with you”, the Armenian Times” Daily correspondent wondered. “There’s no apprehension for that”, Armen Alexanyan, Chair of Student Board of State Economy Institute, said.

Armen was asked why there wasn’t fear while marches and demonstrations are held in the days of the Authorities who ordered to beat, arrest about 700 people without crime and try them without advocates on April 12. “Fighting of young people against the sectarians is not the one between Authorities and Opposition”, Armen said.

We asked Armen which is more dangerous for him – registering “Jehovah’s Witnesses” or falsifying the elections, beating and judging people. “Any unlawful action is dangerous”, the young activist answered.

We also asked why he hadn’t fought against frauds and illegality. “Do you possess facts on falsifying the elections? I do not have any”, Armen Alexanyan said.

The question was posed in another manner – is registering “Jehovah’s Witnesses” and beating people the same or not? “It depends in what conditions people are beaten”, Tigran Khandikyan, Chair of ARF “Nikol Aghbalyan” Student Union, said.
