IT IS THE BRITISH WHO THINK ABOUT THE ARMENIAN SICK NEWBORN CHILDREN
Support A1+!Every year 1000 children are born in the region of Tavoush, but in the 3 birth houses of Tavoush there are not even elementary conditions. And it is not the Armenian Government but the British Embassy that is concerned about this problem. The lives of the Armenian sick newborn children are saved thanks to the generosity shown in the Burns Supper.
Torda Ebbott Wott, Ambassador of Great Britain to Armenia, told the reporters today that 25 622 US dollars was collected during the Burns Supper. This sum will be allotted to the «NOVA» non-governmental medical organization which is now organizing courses in the Ijevan hospital. The organization will install an incubator and an ultrasonic device in the Ijevan hospital and teach the doctors to use it.
The ambassador took out the $25 622 from the envelope and demonstrated it to the reporters, and then gave it to the Head of the «NOVA» non-governmental medical organization. She also said that it was a way of compensating the good attitude of the Armenians towards them during the period they lived here.
