DRUGS ARE NOT A PRIMARY PROBLEM IN ARMENIA
Support A1+!If the people speaking about found drugs mention tons of them all over the world, in Armenia the situation is much better. Last year 59 kg drugs were found in Armenia, only 2 of which is considered «heavy drugs».
As a rule, «heavy» drugs are imported into Armenia from Russia, Iran and Central Asia. But the import is small.
The policemen claim that in the combat against drug-addiction a great role is played by the national mentality, as a result of which the acquaintances of the drug-addict try not to associate with him. Although this attitude of the society is discouraged by the Europeans who think that it is because of this attitude that the drug-addicts do not want to be cured, Ashot Mkrtchyan, head of the Combat against drug-trafficking department, thinks that in this case the national mentality is the only way out.
