Support A1+!”This year “Armforest” will plant 60-80 thousand trees in Yerevan”, said Romik Kosemyan, head of the Yerevan Enviromental Protection Administration in the today’s press conference. 30 thousand trees and 41 thousand bushes will be planted at the end of March, when there will be a week of volunteer labor.
Kosemyan also said that about 20 thousand flower beds will be created. “Factually, this spring more work is anticipated than previous years”, said Romik Kosemyan. Up to 2007 117 trees and 260 thousand bushes will be planted in Yerevan, “and about 30 hectares of lawn will be created”.
According to the calculations of the head of the Yerevan Environmental Protection Administration, today about 4.5 square meters of green area falls on each resident of the city. By 2007 the number must be 20-22 square meters. But the municipality, according to Romik Kosemyan, must take care of the trees and plants to grow properly.
