EU GIVES AND DEMANDS

For the coming two years EU will donate about 20 million Euros to Armenia in the margins of the EU Food Aid Program, head of the EU office in Southern Caucasus Ambassador Torben Holze informed today.

For the last 8 years Armenia has received about 80 million from the EU in the margins of the above mentioned program. The money has been spent on the social field, agriculture, the cadastre system, as well as on the realization of the National Statistics Service.

Mr. Holze also referred to the issue of Metsamor nuclear power station which EU demands to close.

«EU is worried about the safety of the nuclear power station. This is not a policy held towards Armenia. EU demands the same of all the countries where there are reactors of the first generation. The same is demanded of Russia. The nuclear power station is the problem of the people's security which must be referred to sooner or later», he said.
