WAR AGAINST MONEY EXTORTERS
Support A1+!Today's press conference of the Radio station «RadioHay» was a complaint against the RA Ministry of Transport and Connection. The Radio station informed that the «TV communication State Center» LTD founded by the Ministry in 1998 continues to extort illegal sums from the TV Companies. It demands to pay for those services for which the TV and Radio Companies pay while getting the broadcasting certificate.
The Radio station faced this problem this year when winning the certificate of broadcasting programs in 20 cities and towns of the country in February applied to the above mentioned LTD to get the right to register and use the radio transmitter. The LTD demanded about 27 million AMD in total to carry out a process which is fact was to be fulfilled without any payment.
What is interesting is that when the Radio station sent a complaint to the RA Ministry of Transport and Connection the LTD agreed to meet them half way and to take only part of the money. But “RadioHay” not only refused to pay, but has also applied to the RA chief prosecutor and aroused a case.
According to the calculations of the Radio station since 2000 the LTD has extorted about 50 million AMD from TV and Radio companies.
