The illegal constructions can no more be legalized. Head of the judicial administration of the Yerevan municipality Artyom Sargsyan informed us about it today.

According to him, some amendments have been introduced into the Civic and Administrative Code according to which any illegal construction is the property of the state or the community.

The municipality calls on all the residents not to construct new illegal buildings, as they will be punished according to the amendments to the Administrative Code. If the fine was 70 thousand AMD, now it has become 200 thousand. But if the owner has not deconstructed the building within the ordered date, the fine becomes 2.5 million AMD.

But this is not all. The corresponding structures have decided to establish criminal punishment for those who construct illegal buildings. There is a choice between the fine and the 1-2-year–imprisonment in the reformatory.
