The residents of Akhalqalaq city of Javakhq closed the road which was to lead the equipment of the Russian 62nd military basis out. They did not allow the armored car of communication to pass and demand it to return to the basis. According to them, the car was heading for Tsalka.

«The departure of the car of communication means that the works of withdrawal of the military basis from Javakh have already started», an unknown source said, Regnum agency reports. According to the course, the Armenian residents of Akhalqalaq are against the withdrawal of the military basis as a number of problems have not yet been solved, including the security of the Armenians of the region and the creation of jobs for them.

It is noteworthy that a number of Armenians were provided with jobs thanks to the military basis. The Armenians of Javakh demand the authorities of Russia and Georgia to explain why the local population was not involved in the negotiations. “The Georgian government keeps everything secret. They do not explain who will take the place of the Russians. This causes the discontent of the residents of Javakh,” the interlocutor of the Regnum agency said.
