“MILLENNIUM CHALLENGES” OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

Today, the United Stated of America and the Republic of Armenia officially marked the beginning of the five-year program of “Millennium Challenges”. The program aims at reduction of poverty and development of the country.

During the official ceremony in the RA Ministry of Finance and Economy Minister Vardan Khachatryan and representative of the Millennium Challenges Corporation Alex Rasin exchanged the letters marking the beginning of the 235-million dollar program.

Let us remind you that the program aims at reducing rural poverty by means of securing stable and lasting growth of economic indices in the agriculture field. The program is to yield significant results for 750 000 rural residents. It is supposed to reduce the level of poverty in the villages and to add annual income.

Let us note that the Millennium Challenges Corporation is a US state structure which works with the poorest countries of the world.
