INCIDENT BETWEEN AZERI AND ARMENIAN STUDENTS

Social

An Azeri student Aghaly Alishev was taken to hospital N64 in the result of an incident between Armenian and Azeri students at the University after Patris Lumumbay in Moscow.

The cause of the confrontation was the fact that Armenian students began dancing with the Nagorno-Karabakh (NKR) flag at the exhibition “South-West,” Galina Kuzmina, the University Press Secretary, reported mass media representatives.

“The incident didn’t turn to a conflict thanks to sound measures undertaken by the University administration.” Galina Kuzmina says.

Azeri students informed Azeri mass media representatives that they had failed Armenian students’ attempts to dance with the NKR flag by grasping the NKR flag and tearing it to pieces. To settle the issue the sides agreed to meet near one of “Mac Donalds” cafes at 10:00 p.m.

According to Azeri students, over 100 Azeris and representatives of the Moscow Police arrived at the site at 10:00 and did not find any Armenian there.
