CHINA COMPETES WITH USA
Support A1+!China will become equal to the US in the economic field and that is acceptable for the international community. This is certified by the surveys of “Chicago Council on Global Affairs”, “International Journal of Public Opinion” and surveys of other organizations. The Armenian public is of the same opinion; however it doubts that China can be entrusted the role of a responsible performer in the world.
47 percent of the participants in the survey consider that the economy of China will become as powerful as the US economy, while 30 percent thinks that “US economy will always remain the most dominant”. This is the 8-th survey conducted in 56 percent of countries in the world. 1300 people participated in the survey in Armenia.
At the Armenian Center for National and International Studies expert Edward Antinyan summed up the results of the survey and did not exclude that China might reach the US and considered: “Chine has got nothing to bind to the world, while the US has got”. World accepts that Chinese goods are competitive and cheap. “It has a number of economic successes”.
“China is an alternative for Armenia. Economy of China will develop without affecting the world”, mentioned Mr Antinyan. He ensures that China’s progress will not make obstacles for Armenia. According to Vahan Shirkhanyan, former Deputy Minister of Defense stated that the development of China-Armenia cooperation would have strategic character. Half of the inquired said that our relations with China remained on the same level, while 34 percent considered that they were improving.
