Few drivers fasten seat belts today, though the law has been in force since January 1.

According to the RA Police, over 1395 people have been fined within five months. The Police declined to answer on what criteria they had chosen the law-breakers.

In reply to A1+'s remark that many are still unaware of the law, the Police representatives observed that they had held press conferences to inform public.

Drivers are also forbidden to smoke while driving.

Road traffic accidents have increased by 171 in comparison with the previous year data. 103 people have been killed and 885 people have been injured over the last five months.
