WE RETURN TO LINES

Social

Citizens have been standing in lines in front of “ArmenTel” service center on Vazgen Sargsyan Street since morning today. The subscribers were standing to sign agreements for cellule connection service.

It should be reminded that by the law regulating public services adopted on 30 March 2007, the providers of mobile cellule services should resign agreements with subscribers by 1 November 2007 attaching the copies of subscribers’ passports.

The subscribers have to stand in lines for 3 hours to enter the offices, since those who have friends manage to sign agreements without any troubles.

“Why do we need this agreement? We are standing here for nothing. They do whatever they want to do. We have nothing else to think about but to come and stand here for hours”, said Marina Poghosyan who has been standing in the line for 2.5 hours and is late for lessons.

Many consider that this step is an attempt to control “voters” before presidential elections, so that they will be aware of subscribers’ activities.

The subscribers were complaining that the service was slow and 20 minutes was needed for signing an agreement with each of them. The employees of the centers informed that the job was heavy and problems arose with documents, many subscribers did not have the copies of their passports with them.

People are standing in lines in front of all service centers of “ArmenTel” and “Vivacell”. We should remind that the subscribers’ cards will not function if they do not sign agreements until 1 November.
