DID THEY SUFFER?
Support A1+!17 families in Artsvaqar community in Gavar in the region of Gegharkunik have not got the compensation for losses in the result of river unsettle on 12 May 2007.
If other families of the village got the compensation, these families have not got anything. This is the third time that the representatives of 17 families organize a protest action in front of the Government building.
“When we suffered in the result of unsettle Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan visited us and promised to help. He kept his word and transferred money to the regional administration, but Armen Zohrabyan and Derenik Hovhannisyan, employees of the administration did not give a penny to us”, complained 70-year-old Emma Sakyan to “A1+”.
She told that the employees considered their families did not suffer. “But we live right on the bank of the river how could we avoid the unsettle of the river?”. They have send letters to the Gegharkunik regional administration but received no answer. “We have written to Prime Minister for three times, but the administration does not say what Mr Sargsyan says in this regard”, mentioned Emma Sakeyan.
The demonstrators were so quiet that if the policemen were not gathered there you would hardly guess that they had come to complain.
