IS NOT MONITORED

Social

Rise in prices is already registered in the market a month before the New Year. The RA State Committee on Economic Competition Protection has already begun monitoring in 25-30 markets in respond to violations and prevailing abuses.

Some goods are beyond the monitoring limits of the Committee. It refers to candies and nuts. A month ago almond was sold for 3000-3800 drams, now it costs 4000-4500 drams. The same we may say about candies.

Armine Udumyan, press secretary of the RA State Committee on Economic Competition Protection informed “A1+” that candies and nuts were comparatively free market. “If we register anti-market activities in these markets, we will have to interfere. If not, then we’ll have to regard this fact in another context”.

Mrs Udumyan explained that they mainly focus on those markets “which dominate by their position and which are formed in the result of import”. “Thus, we mainly focus on the risk markets”, says Armine Udumyan adding that those who sell certain kinds of goods may say that they import the goods expensively, consequently they sell goods at high price. “This is the theoretical approach, but we do not know what will happen in practice”, says Udumyan.
