NORAGAVIT BURIED IN DARKNESS
Support A1+!Darkness falls upon Noragavit District at twilight. People hardly find the way because of poor illumination of the streets.
They even fear to go out in the evenings.
“You might be attacked and robbed any moment. Therefore, we try to return home before darkness,” Anna Mkrtchian says.
“We are already fed up with authorities’ bad treatment. The authorities open North avenues and new blocks of flats. The whole centre is lit at night. They ignore our district as Noragavit is a suburb. But are residents guilty of it?” resident Tamara Manucharian expressed her indignation.
According to residents authorities remember about their district only during elections when candidates “need votes.” But immediately after elections they forget both their promises and the district.
“The illumination requires great sums of money. Today we lack such financial means. The district will be illuminated by mid-2008,” Amatuni Grigorian, a representative of the Shengavit district head told A1+.
