PETITION OVERRULED
Support A1+!Today the independent commission dealing with the issues of detainees overruled the petition on releasing editor-in-chief of “Zhamanak Yerevan” (Yerevan Time) Arman Babajanian on probation. The petition had been submitted by the “Convicts’ Hospital” Penitentiary.
Under a law, the commission will hold hearing on the case in three months.
The Heritage Party has issued a statement voicing concern over the case.
“The authorities are so scared by political dissent and real democracy that they take all possible efforts to silence national heroes and champions of freedom of speech,” the statement runs.
Reminder: RA Human Rights Defender Armen Haritiunian filed a petition on releasing Arman Babajanian on probation.
