“ANIMALS” STAGE A PROTEST
Support A1+!Today a number of people in masks of various animals, gathered at the Governmental Buildings in defense of Teghut. Since today is the International Day of Biodiversity and Agriculture, the protesters wanted to show that the exploitation of Teghut would endanger the local biodiversity.
The demonstrators were determined to continue the protest until the Government annulled the resolution of exploitation of Teghut. They were also willing to have a face-to-face meeting with the Prime Minister.
“Hands off from Teghut”, “Green Armenia”, “Healthy generation”, “We don’t need Uranium” were the slogans of the demonstrators.
Today the Governmental Buildings had other “guests” too. These were the residents evicted from their houses of Northern Avenue, Byuzandi and Aghbyur Serobi Streets, Dalma Gardens and other places. In their words “the present authorities make promises but never fulfill them.”
“They only throw dust in eyes of international institutions. We don’t need a dishonest government”, declared Chairman of the “Protection of Property Rights” NGO Vachagan Hakobian.
