DRIVERS STILL WON’T BE FINED
Support A1+!Taxi drivers with white license plates can drive their cars for a couple of more days without any fines.
“They’re still not checking, but they will soon. The transportation inspectorate can’t pull cars over by itself. That’s up to the road police,” told “A1+” press speaker for the RA Minister of Transportation and Communication Susanna Tonoyan.
According to her, it remains unclear as to when the schedule will be set. Drivers say that they can’t pay 25,000 drams, install a meter, and keep a doctor and accountant because their salaries are not enough. Drivers also say that they have purchased the cars from the banks with high interest rates and can’t pay off the loans. They want the solution to the issue to be postponed until the end of the economic crisis in the country.
The new law is in effect since December 2008.
