Armenian grand master Levon Aronyan experienced the first defeat in the “Morelia-Linares” super tournament.

Ukrainian Vasili Ivanchuk beat Aronyan in the seventh round.

To note, the Ukrainian grand master has beat his Armenian rival over the past two years.

Currently Aronyan shares the forth place with Swidler, with 3.5 points each. Anand and Karlsen top the fixture table, with 4.5 pints each.

Ivanchuk presently has 4 points.

The grand masters will leave for Linares to hold the meetings of the second phase.
