In the 7th round Levon Aronyan (Armenia) defeated ex-world champion Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria). Aronyan is currently the third with 9 points. Magnus Carlsen (Norway) lost to Vasili Ivanchuk (Ukraine), Teymur Rajabov played a draw with Wishvanathan Anand (India).

Magnus Carlsen is leading with 11 points. Topalov is the second with 10 points. Vasili Ivanchuk has 8 points. Anand and Rajabov are at the bottom with 6 points each.
