ARONYAN TO PARTAKE IN LINARES SUPER TOURNAMENT

Armenia’s top Grand Master Levon Aronyan will participate in the Linares Super Tournament from February 18 to March 8. The super tournament features the best chess players all over the world.
The tournament is usually held in the cities of Linares (Spain) and Morelia (Mexico) but this year the Grand Masters will compete in Spain. The Mexican city will be involved in the tournament next year.
World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand (India), Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine), Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan), Wang Yue (China), Alexander Grishchuk (Russia) and Leinier Dominguez (Cuba) will leave for Linares to partake in the super tournament.
Bulgarian GM Veselin Topalov has withdrawn his participation as he is preparing for an upcoming meeting with U.S. chess player Gata Kamsky.
Linares Super Chess Tournament ranks among the world's prestigious tournaments. It was first held in 1978. Chess prodigy Garry Kasparov has won the tournament eight times which is said to be unprecedented in the history of a 30-year-old tournament.
Levon Aronyan participates in the tournament for the fourth time. He won the tournament in 2006.
