One of the towers of the "Nairit" factory's chloropren production unit is still burning.

This is the factory's main production unit where chloropren rubber is produced. However, press speaker for the "Nairit" factory assures that the incident does not present serious ecological danger.

"We have already cleared things up and there are no dangerous exhaustions. There is no cause for panic," press speaker for "Nairit" factory Anush Harutyunyan told "A1+".

The factory representative assures that if the dangerous materials had exhausted without burning, the situation would have been more dangerous.

Information about victims is being clarified.

The fire broke out at around 16:40 p.m. An explosion took place at the production unit followed by a fire and exhaustions.

Fifteen firefighting crews have already arrived on the scene and new groups are coming to the rescue. Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the next towers.

The Bagratunyats Street that leads to the "Nairit" factory is currently closed down to let the firefighters do their job.
