Fire caused $5 million damage
A few stalls selling construction materials at 78 Vardanants Street got burnt this night.
The reasons for the conflagration are still unknown.
Eye-witnesses say the fire broke out because of a short circuit in an electric service panel. The fire spread in a trice leaving 6-7stalls burnt. Fire-fighters were able to douse the fire after cutting off energy.
The whole street was deenergised for two hours.
"Can't our services cooperate with each other? Isn't there a law in Armenia regulating the work of ambulance, fire fighters and electric networks? Everyone acts on his own in Armenia, and ordinary citizens have to phone all services separately," complained Hrachya Poghosyan.
The stall owners say the fire has caused them a damage of 5 million drams burning all goods inside.
