3,514 “new” citizens
In the past nine months of 2009, 158,882 people have been granted RA passports.
According to residency, there are 2,487 registered citizens-227 foreigners have received the RA Special Residency Status and 2,260 people have received RA citizenship.
On the occasion of extending the deadline for departure of RA citizens who have left the country for temporary residency, necessary inspections have been carried out on the cases of 4,146 citizens. The cases were sent by RA diplomatic representations and consulates and the conclusions have been given.
Permission for departure from the RA has been granted to 2,019 RA citizens and 80 citizens have been granted permission for permanent residency, including 45 minors and 35 children. Compared to the same period last year, the number of people with permission for permanent residency has reduced by four times.
By the RA presidential decrees, 3,514 people have been granted RA citizenship (that number was 688 in the nine months of 2008), while 255 people have terminated their RA citizenship by accepting the citizenship of another country, as reported by the press service of the RA Police.
