Madrid Principals are a mine
The recent political developments made Director Jivan Avetisian shoot his first documentary on the Madrid Principles.
"The film "Smoking Fuse" details the Madrid Principals - the reality we are facing today. I tried to be most impartial and portray the bitter reality in true colours. I have talked to Karabakhi people, war veterans, youth representatives, state officials and mothers and I tried to present the on Karabakhi people on the Madrid Document. As a result, I learnt that Karabakhi people will not surrender their territories."
The director tried to talk to Karabakhi leadership as well, but all his efforts failed.
"The Madrid Document is a mine which will explode sooner or later. Either it must be disconnected and thrown away or we shall wait for the consequences," says the director. "Eventually, if the Madrid Principals are implemented, we shall lose Karabakh."
