Six new cases of swine flu were reported on Tuesday in Armenia bringing the overall number of infections to 21, Armenia's chief epidemiologist Ara Asoyan told A1+.
"They are being treated at the Nork hospital for infectious diseases and have all tested positive for the H1N1 virus. Twelve of the 21 infected patients have already been discharged from hospital," Asoyan said.
Armenia hasn't yet received swine flu vaccine. By a decision of the World Health Organization (WHO), the vaccine will arrive in Armenia at the end of January.
Armenian drugstores do not have stocks of Tamiflu which is considered effective remedy against the influenza. The price of the medicine has hooked up from AMD 4000 to AMD 18 000.
