Fadei Sargsyan passed away
Academician Fadei Sargsyan, ex President of the National Academy of Sciences, Advisor to the RA Prime Minister deceased at the age of 86.
Fadey Sargsyan was Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Armenian SSR (1977-1989), parliamentarian (1995-1999) and major general.
He graduated from Leningrad Military Academy after S.M. Budyonov (1946).
He made researches in radio electronics, computer engineering, and automatic control systems.
Fadei Sargsyan held different leading positions in the Scientific Technical Committee of the Central Rocket Artillery Administration of the USSR Ministry of Defence (1946 - 1959), was Director of Yerevan Scientific Research Institute of Mathematical Machines (YSRIMM) (1963-1977), Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Armenian SSR (1977-1989), Academician-secretary of the Division of physico-mathematical and technical sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (1989-1993), and President of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (1993-2006).
He had been Adviser to the prime-minister of RA since 2006.
