Schoolchildren will not have spring holidays
Armenian schools resumed classes on January 11, 2010.
Pre-school institutions and comprehensive schools were stopped in the republic in December 2009 to prevent swine flu epidemic in the country.
"The first quarter will be summed up at the end of January. Schoolchildren will not have spring holidays in order to make up leeway," Arthur Baghdasaryan, Spokesman for the RA Ministry of Education and Science, told A1+.
As of January 8, 2010, 111 cases of A/H1N1 flu virus have been recorded in Armenia, three with fatal ending.
Currently, 2 patients are being treated in hospital.
Strict monitoring of viral respiratory illnesses continues to take place in the republic, even during the holidays. The monitoring has shown that the number of infected patients is decreasing.
