"Forgetting the past means not having a future"
"The genocide continues because Turkey's genocide denial is the completion of genocide," the Armenian Assembly of Europe announced today.
The Swedish-based organization mentioned: "Those who call on us to forget the past and look toward the future, ignore the fact that forgetting the past means not seeing the future and not seeing the present means not having a future."
The Armenian Assembly of Europe is certain that regardless of how the "normalizing process" of Turkish-Armenian relations will proceed and end, splitting the Armenian nation and undermining our efforts must not be permitted.
"The fight for genocide recognition and compensation continues and must continue through combined efforts of all Armenians. That is the issue concerning our future and existence. We call on all Armenians to combine their efforts and fight with no retreat for the condemnation of the crime committed against our nation, recognition of the Armenian Genocide, compensation and restoration of violated rights," as stated in the statement.
