Scars are evidence
The teachers of Nubarashen School N11 for children with special needs organized a protest in defense of former school principal Meruzhan Yengibaryan say there should be "one child or employee that will affirm that Yengibaryan was aware of that."
By "that" they meant that former school principal Meruzhan Yengibaryan was not aware that former educator Levon Avagyan was a child molester and brutally beat children. In court, the former students of the school had told the preliminary investigative body that the school principal was aware of "that" during the legal proceedings.
During an interview with "A1+", they claimed that former school principal Meruzhan Yengibaryan was not only aware of child molester, prisoner Levon Avagyan's actions, but was even more brutal than Levon Avagyan.
"I don't understand why those teachers are defending Yengibaryan. They probably hope that Yengibaryan has backup that will bring him back to the school and they won't lose their jobs. When his hands got tired while beating the kids, he used to beat them with a stick or chains," said former student of Nubarashen School N11 for children with special needs Martha Zhakiyevich.
To substantiate, Martha added: "Do they want facts? Let them shave our heads. Yengibaryan left bruises on all of us."
One of the former students Laura Ateyan said Yengibaryan personally beat her. "I was at the State Hospital for a month after the beating. Yengibaryan boxed me and I still have sharp pains to this day. Even doctors told me that they were not blows to the head."
Gayane Sahakyan assured that not only principal Yengibaryan, but all educators knew about Levon Avagyan. "When we used to tell the principal or other teachers about Avagyan's actions, they used to tell us to be quiet and that there was no such thing."
Let us remind that after the indictment of former Armenian language teacher Levon Avagyan, RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan removed Principal Meruzhan Yengibaryan from office. Yengibaryan claimed that the charges against Levon Avagyan were aspersions during the preliminary investigation.
