Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Manuk Vardanyan says the "railway belongs to Armenia" though its management was entrusted to Russia by a concession agreement.

"We have given nothing to Russia. The railway belongs to Armenia. Russia will simply manage it for 30 years."

The minister went further saying ArmPost is not owned by Argentinian-Armenian businessman Eduardo Eurnekian.
"This is another Armenian company. The right of management was transferred to ArmPost Management owned by Eurnekian," Manuk Vardanyan said.

Minister Vardanyan ruled out disruption of Iran-Armenia railway construction because of finances, saying it is a must today.

Armenian experts estimate that the construction expenses will total 1,7-1,8 milliard AMD while Europeans calculate about 4 milliard AMD," the minister said.

With the construction of railway, Armenia assumed another tax obligation and added its external debts.
