Explosion due to gas outflow
At around 9-9:30 a.m. a huge explosion was heard from the second floor of apartment building #27 on Kurghinyan Street in Malatia-Sebastia district, forcing residents of the five-story building to leave their residencies.
According to initial data, the explosion was due to a gas outflow, leaving some apartments partially damaged and the site of the explosion completely burnt.
The explosion also destroyed the front and back walls of the building, damaged the cars parked near the building, the building's gas pipeline and broke the glasses of the front building.
Firefighters, policemen, ambulance doctors and representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene 15 minutes after the explosion and immediately terminated gas supply to building #27 on Kurghinyan Street.
The fire was put out 40 minutes later. The owner of the burnt house died and there are no other victims, according to initial data.
