Two scores of Armenians were holding a flash mob outside Yerevan's Moscow Cinema Sunday evening to celebrate the birthday of pop signer Michael Jackson. They intended join Jackson's fans from all over the world and dance under the music of the legendary "King of Pop."

Hardly had the group begun dancing when a few policemen approached them demanding the permit of the Yerevan Municipality. Despite the young people's attempts to explain the aim of the gathering the policemen insisted on the group's dispersing.

Michael Jackson died in 2009 at the age of 50 after he suffered cardiac arrest at his home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. His personal physician, Conrad Murray, said he found Jackson in his room, not breathing but with a faint pulse, and that he administered CPR to no avail. Jackson was treated by paramedics at his home, but was pronounced dead at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

The expression flash mob derives its name from the words flash (outburst) and mob (crowd) which can mean any activity involving a group of people coordinated through virtual communities to meet to perform some predetermined action at a particular place and time and then disperse quickly.
