Armenian youth green movement activist Mariam Sukhudyan is going to challenge the idleness of the RA Special Investigation Service in the Prosecutor General's Office and in court.

In August 2010, the environmentalist requested the Special Investigation Service to give her information on the report presented by her on June 24, 2010 on illegal actions of the RA Police Erebuni Investigation Department. In particular, Sukhudyan accused the Erebuni Investigation Department of conducting a biased and partial investigation, deliberately neglecting documents in evidence and bringing trumped-up charges against her.

Within a programme financed by the UN Yerevan Office, Mariam Sukhudyan worked with a group of volunteers in Nubarashen special school #11 where she reported incidences of neglect, violence and sexual abuse towards the children with mental disabilities.

Following these scandal, on February 11, 2009, Mariam Sukhudyan was accused of defamation by the RA Police Erebuni Investigation department, risking up to 5 years of imprisonment while no legal procedures were taken against the institution's administration and staff.
Later the preliminary inquiry into the case was forwarded to the Investigation Department of Yerevan City which found the teacher of Nubarashen special school guilty of sexual abuse and sentenced him to three years in prison.

The report sent to the RA Prosecutor General has been forwarded to the RA Special Investigation Service for further examination. To date, Sukhudyan has received no answer from the Special Investigation Service.
