Happy birthday, Maestro!
Outstanding Armenian conductor Ohan Duryan turns 88 on September 8, 2010. The world-known maestro has worked with bands from 110 countries.
After Armenia proclaimed independence the conductor returned to his homeland. At the invitation of Armenian leadership, the maestro assumed the post of chief conductor of the National opera and ballet theatre of Armenia. But after years of diligent and staunch work he resigned office and resettled in Moscow.
For many years, Duryan was actively engaged in Armenia's civil life.
As a sign of protest to the authorities' policy, the conductor returned all his awards and participated in opposition rallies.
The great maestro will celebrate his birthday with his family.
A1+ congratulates the world-known conductor and wishes him robust health.
